These gases warm the Earth and Cool it slightly.

For example, the chlorine in chlorine gas shares the same orbit as nitrogen in the atmosphere, and when they combine, they more quickly pass through oxygen (but aren’t as abundant), causing things to become slightly cooler. These heat-trapping pollutants, carbon dioxide to be specific, water vapor, nitrous oxide, and synthetic fluorinated gases, are greenhouse gases. Thus, their impact is known as the greenhouse effect.
Some studies suggest that global warming may cause dangerous floods and droughts in some regions, altering ecosystems and causing asthma and cardiovascular disease. In addition, it may slow agricultural growth in some areas and increase sea-level rises.
